Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, it perhaps one of the most historic places on the globe. Bursting with exciting things to see and do, Edinburgh is the perfect vacation destination. Following are just a few of the fabulous adventures that await in this lovely city.

There are many lovely hotels in Edinburgh for people to choose among when staying in Scotland. Although, any time of the year is a terrific time to visit here, there are many events held only during certain times of the year that people may not want to miss such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Hogmanay New Year’s Celebrations.

Nobody will want to leave Edinburgh without first visiting the Edinburgh Castle. Dating back to the 12 century, this magnificent castle is located upon an extinct volcano and overlooks the entire city of Edinburgh. People may visit the castle all year long during various tours held each day.

While in the area, people will surely want to visit Mary Kings Close street, as well. This historical street dates back to the 1600s and is now located under ground. However, the street is open to visitors all year so that they can experience the feel of the 1600s and learn the history of the area. Another fantastic place to visit in Edinburgh is the popular, Arthur’s Seat. This site is a lion-shaped hill which visitors can climb and view the spectacular landscape of the city.
